Our private beach here means that you can fish, swim, and canoe. We have a padlocked beach hut, where you can store your belongings.

The private fishing from Widmouth Farm's rocks is regarded by locals and angling clubs as some of the best hotspots in the area.

Tarka Trail: Over 30 miles of the Tarka Trail is available to cyclists between Braunton and Meeth, using the old railways of North Devon. Passing through the largely unspoilt countryside as it was described by Henry Williamson in his classic novel ‘Tarka the Otter’ first published in 1927.

There are a variety of riding stables in the area, to cater for all abilities.

Enjoy a ride across Woolacombe Beach, or take a trek around Exmoor National Park, or have private lessons!

There is an abundance of golf courses in North Devon and we are lucky enough to have Ilfracombe Golf Club just a stones throw away.

Widmouth is the perfect location for a golfing trip!

Picture of Ilfracombe Golf Course: Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Ilfracombe Golf Club boasts one of the most spectacular locations in the UK for an exhilarating round of golf. Situated on top of the rugged cliffs of the North Devon coast, every tee has an awe-inspiring view over the sea to the Welsh Coast, Lundy Island and as far as the eye can see on the Atlantic horizon.

South West Coast Path. The South West Coast Path is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath (and one of the longest in the UK) and a National Trail. It stretches for 630 miles (1,014 km), running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset.

The North Devon beaches offer superb surf which is an irresistible draw for long and short boarders across the country. Known for our water sports, you can try your hand at almost anything – from surfing and paddle boarding, to sailing and diving, not to mention kiteboarding and kayaking!
